Here, in frantic pretending, Man finds escape and temporary peace, and goes home tired enough to sleep a short, deep sleep. But what happens here when night comes? When pretending ends, and reality begins?" Disillusioned with the defense department's constant demands on him to design more weapons of mass destruction, a physicist (Don Gordon) takes an undemanding job running a flying saucer ride at the Joyland Amusement Park. But when an alien (Simon Oakland) from the Outer Limits arrives and converts the ride into an actual craft, the scientist finds himself part of a group of abductees who are offered a second chance at life on a new world...but only if they can face their own personal demons.
