Even among the most changeable of living things, Man is quicksilver -- more chameleon-like than the chameleon, determined to survive, no matter what the cost to others...or to himself." When an alien spacecraft crashes in a California canyon and destroys a military patrol sent to investigate, disaffected CIA agent Louis Mace (the great Robert Duvall) is given a mission: infiltrate the craft and kill the creatures inside. With the help of a genetic blueprint taken from the creatures, scientists transform Mace to look exactly like the aliens. Once inside, however, Mace struggles to complete his mission, making discoveries about his prey -- and himself -- in the process. Howard Caine, Douglas Henderson and William O'Connel co-star.
